Parent Program Consultation and Training
Are you feeling overwhelmed by the various therapies your child might need? Our parent consultation program helps you navigate this journey and create a tailored plan for your child's success. We partner with parents of children aged 18 months to 11 years, addressing behavioral barriers and teaching essential skills for both home and school environments.
Our approach combines Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles with naturalistic, play-based techniques, all customized to fit your family's lifestyle and your child's unique needs in sensory processing, motor skills, and language development.
We begin with a complimentary phone call to assess your family's goals and expectations of behavioral supports, followed by an initial parent meeting to explore your child's strengths, growth areas, and triggers to conflict.
Our advanced trained behavioral therapists provide insights into the roots of behavior by understanding each child's unique development and experiences. We collaborate to uncover the causes of barrier behaviors with our occupational and speech therapy team to promote positive change.
Our focus areas include self-regulation, social brain building, and emotional growth, supporting your child's evolving sense of self. This approach capitalizes on a critical period of peak learning capacity vital for your child's future success.
Throughout this journey, we help you develop an effective parenting style that draws from personal experiences while adapting to your child's needs. Let us guide you in providing the right support to allow your child the opportunity to thrive.
ABA (Applied Behavior Therapy) Companion / one-to-one in school and in-center programs
Child Success Center (CSC) offers a comprehensive, neurodiversity-affirming behavioral support program for children with diverse developmental needs. Our approach pairs your child with an experienced, highly trained behavioral therapist who serves as both advocate and supporter.
While many children with Autism Spectrum Disorder qualify for up to 30 hours a week of intervention support through in-network insurance, CSC believes the standard requirement of a high school degree and 40 hours of training is insufficient for optimal care. Instead, our behavioral therapists possess strong child development backgrounds, with many pursuing master's degrees in Behavioral Analysis or related fields.
CSC's out-of-network option with insurance companies allows us to provide highly trained behavioral specialists and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), ensuring tailored support for each child. For those with Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnoses, this may allow for insurance reimbursement. Our services include Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), companion support, in-school occupational and speech therapy, and classroom support, all delivered by master's level clinicians. We also collaborate with local private preschools to create seamless educational experiences. Whether through our ABA program or specialized services, CSC is committed to fostering your child's success in home, school, and community settings.
Preschool Companion Program
Child Success Center offers a comprehensive companion program to support children in various environments, including home, school, community, and clinic settings. If your preschool has requested additional support for your child, we provide an evaluation process and advocacy support to establish the optimal level of assistance. Our journey begins with a complimentary phone call, allowing us to listen and support you during this often emotional and challenging first step. This initial consultation helps create a roadmap outlining the program structure, financial commitments, and available support.
Our approach addresses daily routine challenges by identifying underlying factors such as sensory, language development, social-emotional, environmental, and physical issues. We develop individualized programs that empower children with alternative responses to express their needs and desires. Additionally, we support teachers with knowledge on how to help your child learn, grow, and benefit fully from all your school has to offer. This child-teacher-parent-centered method provides a supportive system and allows for continuous analysis and design of the strongest plan along your child's journey.
Using positive reinforcement and research-based strategies, our therapists create safe, structured environments that incorporate play to teach effective communication and behavioral skills. We focus on building a toolbox of choices that support self-advocacy and external relationships, encouraging task engagement and emotional awareness. Our program, aligned with the CDC’s recommendations as a first-line treatment for young children with ADHD and other developmental needs, aims to equip your child with the skills to navigate their world successfully.
It's important to note that while various terms are used for the support person (such as shadow, therapeutic companion, or behavioral technician), the level of training and knowledge of the chosen individual is more crucial than the terminology. To explore how our approach could benefit your family, we invite you to schedule an informational meeting. Let us help you establish the right level of support for your child's success.
Preschool Companion Supervision
Choosing and managing a companion for your child can feel overwhelming. At CSC, we understand the desire to provide the best support for your child, even when faced with financial constraints.
Our Supervision Program assists you in hiring, managing, training, and collaborating with a companion for your child, as well as working with their preschool. We offer consultative support while you directly employ the companion.
We help you identify the right professional for your child - a highly trained, certified, or licensed individual who provides personalized support to students facing challenges in communication, following directions, attending to routines, staying on task, or engaging socially.
CSC's Behavior Analyst plays a crucial role by:
- Facilitating collaboration among families, teachers, and a multidisciplinary team
- Identifying areas for intervention and developing tailored strategies
- Guiding companions to provide effective, minimally intrusive prompts that promote independence
- Supporting companions and teachers in adapting activities and behavioral strategies within the classroom
- Guide companions, teachers and parents to maximize opportunities for communication, participation, and socialization across various settings
- Assisting companions in integrating seamlessly into class routines
This approach ensures children receive the "just right challenge" to meet their specific needs and thrive in their school environment. By providing comprehensive support and guidance, we aim to make high-quality, individualized care more accessible, helping every child reach their full potential.
Early Learners Enrichment Group (2-3 year olds)
In child development, a "wait and see" approach is often the initial reaction from doctors and parents. However, while there's a range of skill development in the first 3-4 years of life, gaining early insight into how to support your child's growth can significantly boost their success.
CSC offers a specialized playgroup for children aged 2-3 years who may be at risk of or have been diagnosed with developmental delays. This program, which includes parent participation, is designed to create positive learning pathways that can lead to improved lifelong outcomes.
Research shows that neural circuits in the brain are most adaptable during the early years. Our playgroup leverages this critical period by exposing young learners to socialization opportunities, community-based programs, and skill generalization in various settings. This approach helps children build a strong foundation for future development.
