Where Social Skills Flourish Through Play and Learning
Creating Connections in a Safe, Engaging Space
As parents, we aspire for our children to navigate the social world successfully and build meaningful relationships. Developing a social brain requires efficient self-regulation, sensory-motor processing, communication skills, executive function, and the ability to stay connected. These skills enable children to consider others' thoughts and feelings, react appropriately, and form trusting relationships. Throughout the preschool years, children progress from self-directed play to cooperative play and group understanding as their capacities grow.
We offer a range of opportunities, including peer-to-peer speech therapy, Friendship Club, and gross motor play in occupational therapy that mimics a school playground. This step-by-step approach allows children to learn and build social skills, first with one other child, then progress to small groups before transitioning to larger settings like classrooms. Our approach recognizes that children exhibiting socially challenging behaviors often have specific processing challenges that require individualized support from trained professionals.
Our team collaborates with each child's support network, using consistent language to create an individualized developmental journey. We involve parents and educators, providing resources to support children's social development at home and in school. This comprehensive approach aims to build positive self-esteem and equip children with the necessary skills to navigate daily life effectively. Through our program, children develop strong interpersonal skills, improve their ability to navigate social settings, and build better relationships with peers, fostering both academic success and overall emotional and social well-being.
