This summer, we’ll be offering our full line-up of Summer Camps, including our famous Kindergarten Readiness Camp which we’ve run successfully for the last 6 years. This camp has helped many children enter kindergarten with additional skills and confidence. Child Success Center will also be offering a Friendship Camp for 4-7 year olds as well as intense individualized programs focused on handwriting legibility, reading fluency and comprehension, spelling, written expression and executive function skills. See below for details on all of our camps.

*Kindergarten Readiness Camp*

To prepare kids for their new challenges, Child Success Center offers Kindergarten Readiness Camp during the summer. Campers will enjoy a play-based learning environment while acquiring skills in problem solving, flexible thinking, group collaboration, and pre-reading and writing using the popular programs Social Thinking® (Attributed to Michelle Garcia Winner as creator of the Social Thinking Methodology), Zoo Phonics® and Handwriting Without Tears®. Our exciting indoor gym will be turned into a fun learning camp with swings, a trampoline, a climbing wall and monkey bars to take campers on an adventure while building up their kindergarten skills.

Presented as either individual weekly camps or a 2-week session, campers will spend over 20 hours each week involved in activities designed to help them develop the skills needed to excel in kindergarten. The program will help children develop confidence when taking the first steps toward making new friends, attending to a new routine and taking on the challenges of reading and writing.

*Fluency Success ~ Summer Reading Program*

Our Educational Therapists have designed a therapeutic reading program for children in grades 1-4.
The assessment process determines the child’s weak areas and through myriad fun and creative activities, the neurological processes that build a strong foundation for fluent reading are addressed. An individualized plan will be created and delivered one-on-one or in small groups, and scheduled as daily intervention or as needed, depending on the child’s needs. Children who have struggled with reading begin to enjoy positive reading experiences as their neurological processes are strengthened and foundational skills are acquired. The results of the summer session will be evident in the fall school term as the child experiences success in…

  • Word Reading (Decoding)
  • Spelling
  • Passage Reading
  • Fluency
  • Word Meanings

*Friendship Club ~ Social Skills*

Friendship Club is designed for the child aged 4-7 who is having difficulties navigating the social landscape of a classroom/group and/or building friendships. The center’s indoor gym environment provides opportunities – through physical play experiences – to facilitate social engagement. Our team will support your child in filling their social “tool belt” by developing an individual plan that considers your child’s strengths and challenges in the areas of sensorimotor, language, and social/emotional development.
